Worthing Birdman Sponsor Needed from Sharon Clarke on Vimeo Brief HistoryOriginating in Selsey, West Sussex, in 1971, Birdman moved to Bognor Regis in 1978. In '69 the end of Bognor pier was damaged by storms, and in 1999 a 90ft section washed into the sea. A further 60ft section was recently demonlished for safety reasons, rendering the pier too short to use safely for the Birdman event (high tide water levels - too shallow). |
