Worthing First offers flyer to help traders avoid parking fines 04/12/2007Worthing First has issued new guidance to the town’s traders currently suffering from concerns over new parking enforcement. A special flyer is being made available by Worthing First to all businesses within the town who are suffering with unnecessary parking tickets during necessary loading and unloading. Worthing First boardmember Jason Nicholls said, “We have been informed of numerous accounts of tickets being issued to local businesses while moving stock between vehicles and their premises. Worthing First has produced a flyer for businesses to place on their vehicles during these periods. “The main aim of the flyer is to raise awareness to the parking attendant that driver is simply loading or unloading as well as a polite request for patience until completion. Worthing First has made available thousands of flyers which can be placed in vehicles to mark that the driver is loading or unloading.” The reverse of the flyer quotes official parking guidance from both West Sussex County Council and Worthing Borough Council, along with some advice from Worthing First prompting businesses to accept any ticket issued and then to appeal if it has been incorrectly issued.
