SunCloud will Light up Splash Point 14/02/2008

The selection panel have now met and 'SunCloud' has been chosen as the winning piece.

A member of the Masterplan Programme Team commented "the winning artist was Walter Jack Studio and SunCloud, by unanimous decision, meeting all criteria for the brief as a fun and interactive work of public art!".

Work has already begun in order to get the beacon ready to take pride of place at Splash Point.

Wow what an excellent idea, can I have some in my garden? When will this be in place? Angela Kelly

The project sounds excellent – just the sort of thing to encourage further discussion on the area just East of Splash Point – like a Marina!!?? I just hope that we include in the proposed budget, a subtle security camera to overview the area. Cynical, I appreciate, but even the Man U memorial minute was spoiled by the unthinking – nothing is sacred!!!! David Carter
